Purpose of the Meet

  1. To make Competitive Swimming popular in School.
  2. Enhance the scope of Swimming Meets in Schools.
  3. By ranking, setting target to improve the school swimming which may generate quality swimmers for the state or country thereof.
  4.  It will enhance camaraderie among students and instill a sense of sportsman spirit in them.

Point / Award system

  1.  Often we find the schools give attention to the best swimmers and the semi talented swimmers get overlooked. Here with this point system every student contributes some points even if he/she comes last as long they participate. Hence, the Sprit of Participation stays alive.

SKOOLSWIMRANKING 2010 HELD AT TOLLYGUNGE CLUB ON 23RD JULY, 2010

‘Skoolswimranking’ , an interschool swimming competition and one of the most successful sports events of Sports For Positive Change, was launched last July at Ordnance Club, whereby around 80 participants from 14 schools(boys and girls) took part. This year it was held at Tollgunge Club on 23rd July and more than 130 participants competed from 17 schools. The number themselves speak for the growing popularity of the event among school children.

It was very kind of the Mayor of Kolkata, Mr. Shovan Chatterjee, to accept to grace the occasion by his presence.  He enthusiastically gave away the prizes and mementos to the participants and also gave a wonderful speech in front of an excited  congregation of students.

The co-organizer and the main architect of the event, Partha Pratim Majumder, who is also an internationally certified coach and coaching in several clubs and schools in Kolkata, has been working hard with his dream to develop world class swimmers from Bengal. He also plans to open a world class swimming academy in Kolkata.

The sponsors for Skoolswimranking 2010 were BMD Securities Ltd, Bengal Shrachi, Asian Tea and Exports Ltd.  and supported by TTIS, Red FM and FACES.
